PC software compatibility

1. requirements: at least Service Pack 1

2. Although there are usb drivers for Linux and MAC OS
   we don't share programs which, for example, enable the usage of a Bootloader on these operating systems.

3. Only with Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate
   executable by using „Microsoft Windows XP Mode“.

4. Usually runs without problems.
   In some cases the „Compatibility mode“ has to be activated for TAPPS
   This can be activated in the program properties (Right click on program symbol → Properties)
   tab „Compatibility“ → run for : Windows XP (Service Pack 3)):
   

In some cases Windows 7 and Windows Vista store the files in a „virtual programpath“. Use the „Compatiblity files“ button to get to the searched files:

The files are really stored in:
C:\Users\BENUTZER\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Programme\Technische Alternative\Winsol\…

• reason: The error occurs because of limited write permission on the „Programs“ folder.
  
• solution 1: Install TAPPS outside the folder „Programs“ (e.g. „C:\Technische Alternative\Tapps\“)
  
• solution 2: Change the write permissions on the folder „TAPPS“ (Remove „Writeprotection“, grant write permissions)
• solution (Vista): TAPPS requires at least Service Pack 1 to run on Windows Vista (see: Control Panel → System)
  If the error occurs again, see solution 1
  
• solution (7): Activate „Compatibility mode“ for TAPPS (see 4 above)

Dieser Fehler tritt beim Starten von TAPPS auf, wenn 16-Bit kompatible Pfade deaktiviert sind.

• Lösung 1 (Bevorzugt): TAPPS deinstallieren und in einem Pfad neu installieren, in welchem kein Ordnername länger als 8 Zeichen ist.
  (z.B.: C:\Tapps)
  
• Lösung 2 (für Fachmann): Erstellung von 16-Bit kompatiblen Pfade in der Registry aktivieren:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation auf 0 setzen.
  Danach muss TAPPS deinstalliert und neu installiert werden um einen 16-Bit kompatiblen Pfad zu erzeugen.

Wie alle 16-Bit Anwendungen, ist TAPPS grundsätzlich nicht auf 64-Bit Betriebssystemen lauffähig.
Microsoft bietet jedoch mit Hilfe der kostenlosen Virtualisierungssoftware „Windows XP Mode“ die Möglichkeit 16-Bit Programme unter Windows 7 (64-Bit) zu nutzen.
ACHTUNG: Voraussetzung für eine Installation von „Windows XP Mode“ ist Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise oder Ultimate.

In seltenen Fällen kann TAPPS nicht richtig gestartet werden, wenn der Treiber des ausgewählten Standarddruckers keine 16-Bit Anwendungen unterstützt.
Um das Problem zu beheben sollte ein anderer Drucker als Standarddrucker ausgewählt werden.
(„Systemsteuerung“ → „Drucker“ → rechte Maustaste auf Drucker → „als Standarddrucker festlegen“)
